Sandy Hook Police Report

This was a really good article I found at American Everyman --
Sandy Hook Police Report Contains No Evidence That Mass Shooting Took Place And Strengthens Notion That Event Was A Fabricated Hoax

I especially liked this comment from h5mind, though:
There's a reason the general public generally believes in the Sandy Hook hoax, but it's not because the official story is so credible or compelling. It's the same reason half the country still thinks 19 Saudis with box cutters did 9/11, and somehow managed to flatten three skyscrapers with two planes. It's also why no amount of empirical evidence will convince them otherwise. It's called cognitive dissonance. It's when a person is threatened with new information which may drastically alter their current world view. Instead of passing through the often uncomfortable and even painful process of discarding old assumptions of "how things are", and developing a new paradigm based on reality, they find it easier to simply ignore- or even attack- anything which may contradict their current beliefs. There's a similar mindset with deeply held religious and political views.

It's frustrating for those of us who know how often (and how clumsily) our scum bag leaders lie to us, to be unable to rouse our friends and loved ones from their self-imposed mental slumber. Just realize they're not retarded, just human. Everyone has to find their own catalyst for change. For you and me it was probably 9/11; for my folks it was manmade global warming. The great thing is, once there's a chink in the mental armor, the mind is more amenable to further mental shifting, and it becomes easier and easier to displace false conclusions with those based on empirical truth. In other words, we become critical thinkers. I suspect this is why public schooling is so focused on rote recitation, obedience to authority, and 'following the rules' and not the ability to question every tenet, no matter how sacred or long-established.

So relax, and let them come to you. Scatter bread crumbs of truth for the pigeons to peck at, and eventually they will build an appetite for more substantial fare.

"Weather Modification 101" = Dutchsinse video response

It's been 9 years to the day when a horrifying tsunami hit the Indian Ocean, killing over 200,000 people. I remember feeling very suspicious about that event, which happened the year before hurricane Katrina. First of all, why weren't the locals warned a tsunami was on the way? By and large, they weren't, and they should have been. There's no telling how many lives might have been spared if they were. Anyway, those who think that storms and earthquakes can't be engineered using known technology need to rethink that, so I'm posting this video.

Goading the Poor into Class War

I hate to admit it, but it should come as no surprise to anyone who's read this blog for very long that I'm on government food stamps. After all, I can't even afford a computer -- I have to do all my blogging at the library, which is why it often takes so long for me to get to posting comments. Most Americans have recently heard about a large cut in food stamps that took place in November. Sure, there's plenty of money to bail out international banks and send over to Israel, but when it comes to feeding the poor ... well, they don't have a lobby do they?

So I've been having to make do with about $2.30 a day in food stamps since November, and now I just got a thing in the mail that says, "SNAP Benefit Deposit Dates Are Changing in January 2014! In January only, you will receive the first half of your SNAP benefits (formerly food stamps) on your current deposit date, and the second half on your new deposit date. Beginning in February, you will receive all your benefits on the new date. Please plan ahead! The new schedule is listed below." And it shows a chart where everyone's deposit date is moved ahead by 10 days.

Um, isn't that just a fancy way to tell us we lost 10 days worth of food? Funny, I never saw this being discussed on TV. Meanwhile, American taxpayers are coughing up $7400 a day for each individual prisoner at Guantanamo Bay, some of which have been on a hunger strike since February. By contrast, I receive about $840 a year to live on food stamps. Not that I'm all that willing to trade places with Shaker Aamer, mind you -- just stating a fact.

Photos and Eyewitnesses Confirm - BOTH Boston Marathon Bombs Were Fake

[I got this video from livingonplanetZ on youtube.]

Eyewitnesses to both of the Boston Marathon bombs confirm that pyro simulators were used to fake the explosions. This shows how dramatic looking effects were produced without any danger to the waiting actors at the scene. Strategic Operations was the contractor admitting to working with the perpetrators within Boston government at the "Urban Shield" exercises, and was almost certainly involved in supplying the special effects for the Marathon as well. Compare the Strategic Operations effects with the physical evidence in photographs from the marathon and the accounts of eyewitnesses, and you have a perfect match.

This issue is taking on a new and even greater significance, with the revelation of the NSA massive spying operation against innocent US citizens. Many of the companies involved in 'security' at the Boston Marathon (in other words, setting up the terrorism) have considerable ties to those also doing the spying. No doubt, staging the false-flag bombing was meant to help "justify" the spying - as well as the huge amount of tax payer money they receive for doing it. After watching this, you will never think about the Boston Marathon bombing, FEMA, the FBI, or terrorism the same way again.

Videos about Sandy Hook

“When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace.” -- Nelson Mandela

We're coming up on the anniversary of what is supposedly one of the largest mass shootings by a single person in US history. I doubted the experiences of eyewitnesses to the Batman shooting earlier that year, but when I saw "grieving father" Robbie Parker obviously get in character to speak to the press (around 18:20 of the first video) I knew for sure these guys were actors. So are the most prominent victims of the Boston Bombings. Anyway, here are 3 more videos on the subject, the last two speaking about the recently released 911 tapes they tried to block from release for almost a year because it might upset the parents (except they never seem all that upset). I think it's because those tapes didn't exist until long after the supposed shootings. Sure, they can expose us to all manner of graphic images for propaganda purposes, like people jumping out of the Twin Towers and Jeff Bauman's shredded leg bone, but that's because they actually had the footage, which apparently in this age of iPhones and surveillance cameras they didn't at Sandy Hook.

Building 7: We can't afford to wait 50 years to address this crime!

Most people still don't know about Building 7, the third skyscraper to fall in NYC on 9/11/01, one which wasn't hit by a plane. It wasn't mentioned in the 9/11 Commission Report. The NY Times continues to ignore it. How many more wars and draconian laws will be tacitly justified before this vital issue is exposed and addressed by the US public? Kudos to Rethink911 for trying to force the issue!

Now what do you suppose this is?

I've seen a lot of criss-cross chemtrails in the sky, but never a bunch of scribbles like this. Weird.

Just a reminder: you can do something about this.

This is the magic bullet ...

Anyone who has done a bit of target practice knows that when they hit something hard, bullets tend to "smoosh". They are, after all, made from lead, a fairly soft metal. Here's an example of what I mean:

Bones are pretty hard. Yet the first bullet I showed you supposedly "passed through President Kennedy’s neck and Governor Connally’s chest and wrist and embedded itself in the Governor’s thigh. If so, this bullet traversed 15 layers of clothing, 7 layers of skin, and approximately 15 inches of tissue, struck a necktie knot, removed 4 inches of rib, and shattered a radius bone." Excuse me if I think it looks more likely fired into a cotton bale.

Eleven Days Before XMass Sandy Hook Hoax

We're coming up on the anniversary of one of the (supposedly) deadliest mass shootings in US history -- the school shooting at Sandy Hook. Sorry if this video comes off as being insensitive, but I'm an amateur actress and I know bad acting when I see it. I also know what it's like to have a child taken from you. Everything about the interviews with the supposed families of the Sandy Hook victims screams FAKE to me. Plus, today's November 19th and already there are Christmas wreaths on the lamp posts here in Ft. Wayne. Max Malone makes a good point about that when he shows footage of the Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Thanks for nothing, Wal-Mart ...

As if encroaching on a day that's supposed to be about family and giving thanks weren't enough ...

Wal-Mart Asks Workers To Donate Food To Its Needy Employees

Les Visible is right. Revolution is inevitable because of things like this:

No wonder Ben Franklin thought the turkey should our be our national bird. I've heard they're so dumb they don't have the sense to come in out of the rain. At least the domesticated turkeys. If we are what we eat, I'm proud to say I'll be having a vegetarian Thanksgiving, and I won't be shopping at Wal-Mart.

I don't want to believe it, either, but this guy sounds like he knows what he's talking about and you can clearly see the microwave anomaly earlier in the month. I have no idea why anyone would want to do this intentionally.

Million Mask March

This is another one of those massively blacked out protests. I've been on Twitter all day and there are people all over the world participating in this. It's a lot bigger than you think.

Something Really Insane Just Happened In Congress, And You Probably Haven’t Heard A Word About It

Found this at WhatReallyHappened.com. For more info, go to http://daily.represent.us/theres-something-absolutely-insane-happening-house-right-now/.

This is maddening. Meanwhile, we're being distracted by a bunch of staged shootings. I do my best to keep my center by concentrating on the big picture. Thankfully, I'm optimistic on that point. The Powers that Were are pulling out all the stops now, but that means more and more Americans (and people in general) are waking up. If you're loving and aware, you're part of the solution.

Fame and child sex abuse

I've been seeing a lot about these things lately so I thought I'd put them together in a post. Here's something weird I just saw today:
Latest man arrested in Savile sex abuse probe is famous TV and radio star... and both police and BBC refuse to name him

Then of course, there's Corey Feldman's new book: Corey Feldman tells of Hollywood sex abuse horror

Here's a recent video on this subject by Max Malone:

Vigilant Citizen pretty much specializes in exposing this kind of abuse, and Aagirfan writes a lot about it too. Creepy stuff.

50 years since JFK's assassination -- when justice isn't served

This is about the best explanation I've seen so far about what really happened 50 years ago on Nov. 22:

What happens when people just "move on," sweep unanswered questions under the rug, and don't follow through with sorely needed investigations? We get things like Iran-contra. The savings and loan scandal. Both Bush's presidencies, 9-11, and the Iraq War. I don't think any of those things would have happened if the Kennedy assassination were investigated properly. And going back even further, I don't think the Kennedy assassination would have happened if Prescott Bush had been properly investigated for his dealings with the Nazis. Yet none of these Bushes ever did any jail time. That's what we get for having short memories. We can't afford to let people get away with this crap. Please share this video with others.

Mind control on the House Floor?

I admit that's what I immediately thought when I first saw footage of the white-haired guy speaking to this house stenographer and her immediate reaction (which has been edited out in most news footage). Was he giving her a trigger word, the kind used in hypnosis?

Still on hunger strike at Guantanamo

Moath al-Alwi, a hunger striker at Guantanamo Bay. A feeding chair at the prison. right: Chantal Valery/Getty Images

[From AlJazeera America. Origial link: http://america.aljazeera.com/articles/2013/10/15/hunger-strike-guantanamo.html]
Editor's Note: The following is by Moath al-Alwi, a Yemeni national who has been in U.S. custody since 2002. He was one of the very first prisoners moved to GuantĂ¡namo Bay detention camp, where the U.S. military assigned him Internment Serial Number (ISN 028). The article was translated from the Arabic by his attorney, Ramzi Kassem.

I write this after my return from the morning’s force-feeding session here at Guantanamo Bay. I write in between bouts of violent vomiting and the sharp pains in my stomach and intestines caused by the force-feeding.

The U.S. government now claims that, among the 164 prisoners at Guantanamo, there are fewer than two dozen hunger strikers, down from well over 100 back in August. I am one of those remaining hunger strikers. I have been on hunger strike for almost nine months, since February.

The guards dragged me out of my cell at around 8:20 a.m. As they took me, shackled, past the other cells and toward the restraint chairs — my brothers and I call them torture chairs — I could barely breathe because of the smell. Some of my brothers are now tainting the walls of their cells and blocking the air-conditioning vents with their own feces in protest.

The force-feeding remains as painful and horrific as the last time I described it. The U.S. military prison staff’s intent is to break our peaceful hunger strike. The result can be read all over my body. It is visible on my bloodied nose and in my nostrils, swollen shut from the thick tubes the nurses force into them. It is there on my jaundiced skin, because I am denied sunlight and sleep. It is there, too, in my bloated knees and feet and my ailing back, wrecked from prolonged periods spent in the torture chair and from the riot squad’s beatings. You can even hear it in my voice: I can barely speak because they choke me every time they strap me into the chair.

No form of pressure is too cruel or petty for our captors. They have deprived me of medication for as long as I remain on hunger strike. They have also taken away electric razors necessary for proper grooming and require all hunger strikers to share a single razor, despite the serious health risks that this poses. A rash spread among some of my fellow prisoners because of this measure by prison authorities.

Not even our rare calls with our families are held sacred. Three weeks ago, as the guards took me to a telephone call with my family, they subjected me to a humiliating and unnecessary search of my private areas. I resisted peacefully, as best I could, and tried to reason with the guards. To avoid these humiliating searches, some of my fellow hunger strikers have abstained from calls with their loved ones or meetings with their attorneys.

Many brothers have ended their hunger strikes because of these brutal force-feeding practices and the cruel punishment inflicted by the prison guards and military medical staff.

Others have chosen to suspend their hunger strikes to give President Barack Obama time to make good on his renewed promise to release Guantanamo prisoners.

But as for my brothers and me, we will remain on hunger strike. We pray that the next thing we taste is freedom. It may be hard to believe, but one of my fellow prisoners now weighs only 75 pounds. Another weighed in at 67 pounds before they isolated him in another area of the prison facility. These men survive only by the grace of God. May God continue to sustain us all until we achieve our goal of justice.

Paranoid Shift

By Michael Hasty
[This is an old article, but still relevant. I found it here at Information Clearing House, go there for links]

January 10, 2004: (Online Journal) Just before his death, James Jesus Angleton, the legendary chief of counterintelligence at the Central Intelligence Agency, was a bitter man. He felt betrayed by the people he had worked for all his life. In the end, he had come to realize that they were never really interested in American ideals of "freedom" and "democracy." They really only wanted "absolute power."

Angleton told author Joseph Trento that the reason he had gotten the counterintelligence job in the first place was by agreeing not to submit "sixty of Allen Dulles' closest friends" to a polygraph test concerning their business deals with the Nazis. In his end-of-life despair, Angleton assumed that he would see all his old companions again "in hell."

The transformation of James Jesus Angleton from an enthusiastic, Ivy League cold warrior, to a bitter old man, is an extreme example of a phenomenon I call a "paranoid shift." I recognize the phenomenon, because something similar happened to me.

Although I don't remember ever meeting James Jesus Angleton, I worked at the CIA myself as a low-level clerk as a teenager in the '60s. This was at the same time I was beginning to question the government's actions in Vietnam. In fact, my personal "paranoid shift" probably began with the disillusionment I felt when I realized that the story of American foreign policy was, at the very least, more complicated and darker than I had hitherto been led to believe.

But for most of the next 30 years, even though I was a radical, I nevertheless held faith in the basic integrity of a system where power ultimately resided in the people, and whereby if enough people got together and voted, real and fundamental change could happen.

What constitutes my personal paranoid shift is that I no longer believe this to be necessarily true.

In his book, "Rogue State: A Guide to the World's Only Superpower," William Blum warns of how the media will make anything that smacks of "conspiracy theory" an immediate "object of ridicule." This prevents the media from ever having to investigate the many strange interconnections among the ruling class—for example, the relationship between the boards of directors of media giants, and the energy, banking and defense industries. These unmentionable topics are usually treated with what Blum calls "the media's most effective tool—silence." But in case somebody's asking questions, all you have to do is say, "conspiracy theory," and any allegation instantly becomes too frivolous to merit serious attention.

On the other hand, since my paranoid shift, whenever I hear the words "conspiracy theory" (which seems more often, lately) it usually means someone is getting too close to the truth.

Take September 11—which I identify as the date my paranoia actually shifted, though I didn't know it at the time.

Unless I'm paranoid, it doesn't make any sense at all that George W. Bush, commander-in-chief, sat in a second-grade classroom for 20 minutes after he was informed that a second plane had hit the World Trade Center, listening to children read a story about a goat. Nor does it make sense that the Number 2 man, Dick Cheney—even knowing that "the commander" was on a mission in Florida—nevertheless sat at his desk in the White House, watching TV, until the Secret Service dragged him out by the armpits.

Unless I'm paranoid, it makes no sense that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld sat at his desk until Flight 77 hit the Pentagon—well over an hour after the military had learned about the multiple hijacking in progress. It also makes no sense that the brand-new chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff sat in a Senate office for two hours while the 9/11 attacks took place, after leaving explicit instructions that he not be disturbed—which he wasn't.

In other words, while the 9/11 attacks were occurring, the entire top of the chain of command of the most powerful military in the world sat at various desks, inert. Why weren't they in the "Situation Room?" Don't any of them ever watch "West Wing?"

In a sane world, this would be an object of major scandal. But here on this side of the paranoid shift, it's business as usual.

Years, even decades before 9/11, plans had been drawn up for American forces to take control of the oil interests of the Middle East, for various imperialist reasons. And these plans were only contingent upon "a catastrophic and catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor," to gain the majority support of the American public to set the plans into motion. When the opportunity presented itself, the guards looked the other way . . . and presto, the path to global domination was open.

Simple, as long as the media played along. And there is voluminous evidence that the media play along. Number one on Project Censored's annual list of underreported stories in 2002 was the Project for a New American Century (now the infrastructure of the Bush Regime), whose report, published in 2000, contains the above "Pearl Harbor" quote.

Why is it so hard to believe serious people who have repeatedly warned us that powerful ruling elites are out to dominate "the masses?" Did we think Dwight Eisenhower was exaggerating when he warned of the extreme "danger" to democracy of "the military industrial complex?" Was Barry Goldwater just being a quaint old-fashioned John Bircher when he said that the Trilateral Commission was "David Rockefeller's latest scheme to take over the world, by taking over the government of the United States?" Were Teddy and Franklin Roosevelt or Joseph Kennedy just being class traitors when they talked about a small group of wealthy elites who operate as a hidden government behind the government? Especially after he died so mysteriously, why shouldn't we believe the late CIA Director William Colby, who bragged about how the CIA "owns everyone of any major significance in the major media?"

Why can't we believe James Jesus Angleton—a man staring eternal judgment in the face—when he says that the founders of the Cold War national security state were only interested in "absolute power?" Especially when the descendant of a very good friend of Allen Dulles now holds power in the White House.

Prescott Bush, the late, aristocratic senator from Connecticut, and grandfather of George W Bush, was not only a good friend of Allen Dulles, CIA director, president of the Council on Foreign Relations, and international business lawyer. He was also a client of Dulles' law firm. As such, he was the beneficiary of Dulles' miraculous ability to scrub the story of Bush's treasonous investments in the Third Reich out of the news media, where it might have interfered with Bush's political career . . . not to mention the presidential careers of his son and grandson.

Recently declassified US government documents, unearthed last October by investigative journalist John Buchanan at the New Hampshire Gazette, reveal that Prescott Bush's involvement in financing and arming the Nazis was more extensive than previously known. Not only was Bush managing director of the Union Banking Corporation, the American branch of Hitler's chief financier's banking network; but among the other companies where Bush was a director—and which were seized by the American government in 1942, under the Trading With the Enemy Act—were a shipping line which imported German spies; an energy company that supplied the Luftwaffe with high-ethyl fuel; and a steel company that employed Jewish slave labor from the Auschwitz concentration camp.

Like all the other Bush scandals that have been swept under the rug in the privatized censorship of the corporate media, these revelations have been largely ignored, with the exception of a single article in the Associated Press. And there are those, even on the left, who question the current relevance of this information.

But Prescott Bush's dealings with the Nazis do more than illustrate a family pattern of genteel treason and war profiteering—from George Senior's sale of TOW missiles to Iran at the same time he was selling biological and chemical weapons to Saddam Hussein, to Junior's zany misadventures in crony capitalism in present-day Iraq.

More disturbing by far are the many eerie parallels between Adolph Hitler and George W. Bush:

A conservative, authoritarian style, with public appearances in military uniform (which no previous American president has ever done while in office). Government by secrecy, propaganda and deception. Open assaults on labor unions and workers' rights. Preemptive war and militant nationalism. Contempt for international law and treaties. Suspiciously convenient "terrorist" attacks, to justify a police state and the suspension of liberties. A carefully manufactured image of "The Leader," who's still just a "regular guy" and a "moderate." "Freedom" as the rationale for every action. Fantasy economic growth, based on unprecedented budget deficits and massive military spending.

And a cold, pragmatic ideology of fascism—including the violent suppression of dissent and other human rights; the use of torture, assassination and concentration camps; and most important, Benito Mussolini's preferred definition of "fascism" as "corporatism, because it binds together the interests of corporations and the state."

By their fruits, you shall know them.

What perplexes me most is probably the same question that plagues most paranoiacs: why don't other people see these connections?

Oh, sure, there may be millions of us, lurking at websites like Online Journal, From the Wilderness, Center for Cooperative Research, and the Center for Research on Globalization, checking out right-wing conspiracists and the galaxy of 9/11 sites, and reading columnists like Chris Floyd at the Moscow Times, and Maureen Farrell at Buzzflash. But we know we are only a furtive minority, the human remnant among the pod people in the live-action, 21st-century version of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

And being paranoid, we have to figure out, with an answer that fits into our system, why more people don't see the connections we do. Fortunately, there are a number of possible explanations.

First on the list would have to be what Marshal McLuhan called the "cave art of the electronic age:" advertising. Joseph Goebbels, Hitler's Karl Rove, gave credit for most of his ideas on how to manipulate mass opinion to American commercial advertising, and to the then-new science of "public relations." But the public relations universe available to the corporate empire that rules the world today makes the Goebbels operation look primitive. The precision of communications technology and graphics; the century of research on human psychology and emotion; and the uniquely centralized control of triumphant post-Cold War monopoly capitalism, have combined to the point where "the manufacture of consent" can be set on automatic pilot.

A second major reason people won't make the paranoid shift is that they are too fundamentally decent. They can't believe that the elected leaders of our country, the people they've been taught through 12 years of public school to admire and trust, are capable of sending young American soldiers to their deaths and slaughtering tens of thousands of innocent civilians, just to satisfy their greed—especially when they're so rich in the first place. Besides, America is good, and the media are liberal and overly critical.

Third, people don't want to look like fools. Being a "conspiracy theorist" is like being a creationist. The educated opinion of eminent experts on every TV and radio network is that any discussion of "oil" being a motivation for the US invasion of Iraq is just out of bounds, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a "conspiracy theorist." We can trust the integrity of our 'no-bid" contracting in Iraq, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a "conspiracy theorist." Of course, people sometimes make mistakes, but our military and intelligence community did the best they could on and before September 11, and anybody who thinks otherwise is a "conspiracy theorist."

Lee Harvey Oswald was the sole assassin of JFK, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a "conspiracy theorist."

Perhaps the biggest hidden reason people don't make the paranoid shift is that knowledge brings responsibility. If we acknowledge that an inner circle of ruling elites controls the world's most powerful military and intelligence system; controls the international banking system; controls the most effective and far-reaching propaganda network in history; controls all three branches of government in the world's only superpower; and controls the technology that counts the people's votes, we might be then forced to conclude that we don't live in a particularly democratic system. And then voting and making contributions and trying to stay informed wouldn't be enough. Because then the duty of citizenship would go beyond serving as a loyal opposition, to serving as a "loyal resistance"—like the Republicans in the Spanish Civil War, except that in this case the resistance to fascism would be on the side of the national ideals, rather than the government; and a violent insurgency would not only play into the empire's hands, it would be doomed from the start.

Forming a nonviolent resistance movement, on the other hand, might mean forsaking some middle class comfort, and it would doubtless require a lot of work. It would mean educating ourselves and others about the nature of the truly apocalyptic beast we face. It would mean organizing at the most basic neighborhood level, face to face. (We cannot put our trust in the empire's technology.) It would mean reaching across turf lines and transcending single-issue politics, forming coalitions and sharing data and names and strategies, and applying energy at every level of government, local to global. It would also probably mean civil disobedience, at a time when the Bush regime is starting to classify that action as "terrorism." In the end, it may mean organizing a progressive confederacy to govern ourselves, just as our revolutionary founders formed the Continental Congress. It would mean being wise as serpents, and gentle as doves.

It would be a lot of work. It would also require critical mass. A paradigm shift.

But as a paranoid, I'm ready to join the resistance. And the main reason is I no longer think that the "conspiracy" is much of a "theory."

That the US House of Representatives Select Committee on Assassinations concluded that the murder of John Fitzgerald Kennedy was "probably" the result of "a conspiracy," and that 70 percent of Americans agree with this conclusion, is not a "theory." It's fact.

That the Bay of Pigs fiasco, "Operation Zapata," was organized by members of Skull and Bones, the ghoulish and powerful secret society at Yale University whose membership also included Prescott, George Herbert Walker and George W Bush; that two of the ships that carried the Cuban counterrevolutionaries to their appointment with absurdity were named the "Barbara" and the "Houston"—George HW Bush's city of residence at the time—and that the oil company Bush owned, then operating in the Caribbean area, was named "Zapata," is not "theory." It's fact.

That George Bush was the CIA director who kept the names of what were estimated to be hundreds of American journalists, considered to be CIA "assets," from the Church Committee, the US Senate Intelligence Committe chaired by Senator Frank Church that investigated the CIA in the 1970s; that a 1971 University of Michigan study concluded that, in America, the more TV you watched, the less you knew; and that a recent survey by international scholars found that Americans were the most "ignorant" of world affairs out of all the populations they studied, is not a "theory." It's fact.

That the Council on Foreign Relations has a history of influence on official US government foreign policy; that the protection of US supplies of Middle East oil has been a central element of American foreign policy since the Second World War; and that global oil production has been in decline since its peak year, 2000, is not "theory." It's fact.

That, in the early 1970s, the newly-formed Trilateral Commission published a report which recommended that, in order for "globalization" to succeed, American manufacturing jobs had to be exported, and American wages had to decline, which is exactly what happened over the next three decades; and that, during that same period, the richest one percent of Americans doubled their share of the national wealth, is not "theory." It's fact.

That, beyond their quasi-public role as agents of the US Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve Banks are profit-making corporations, whose beneficiaries include some of America's wealthiest families; and that the United States has a virtual controlling interest in the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Trade Organization, the three dominant global financial institutions, is not a "theory." It's fact.

That—whether it's heroin from Southeast Asia in the '60s and '70s, or cocaine from Central America and heroin from Afghanistan in the '80s, or cocaine from Colombia in the '90s, or heroin from Afghanistan today—no major CIA covert operation has ever lacked a drug smuggling component, and that the CIA has hired Nazis, fascists, drug dealers, arms smugglers, mass murderers, perverts, sadists, terrorists and the Mafia, is not "theory." It's fact.

That the international oil industry is the dominant player in the global economy; that the Bush family has a decades-long business relationship with the Saudi royal family, Saudi oil money, and the family of Osama bin Laden; that, as president, both George Bushes have favored the interests of oil companies over the public interest; that both George Bushes have personally profited financially from Middle East oil; and that American oil companies doubled their records for quarterly profits in the months just preceding the invasion of Iraq, is not "theory." It's fact.

That the 2000 presidential election was deliberately stolen; that the pro-Bush/anti-Gore bias in the corporate media had spiked markedly in the last three weeks of the campaign; that corporate media were then virtually silent about the Florida recount; and that the Bush 2000 team had planned to challenge the legitimacy of the election if George W had won the popular, but lost the electoral vote—exactly what happened to Gore—is not "theory." It's fact.

That the intelligence about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction was deceptively "cooked" by the Bush administration; that anybody paying attention to people like former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter, knew before the invasion that the weapons were a hoax; and that American forces in Iraq today are applying the same brutal counterinsurgency tactics pioneered in Central America in the 1980s, under the direct supervision of then-Vice President George HW Bush, is not a "theory." It's fact.

That "Rebuilding America's Defenses," the Project for a New American Century's 2000 report, and "The Grand Chessboard," a book published a few years earlier by Trilateral Commission co-founder Zbigniew Brzezinski, both recommended a more robust and imperial US military presence in the oil basin of the Middle East and the Caspian region; and that both also suggested that American public support for this energy crusade would depend on public response to a new "Pearl Harbor," is not "theory." It's fact.

That, in the 1960s, the Joint Chiefs of Staff unanimously approved a plan called "Operation Northwoods," to stage terrorist attacks on American soil that could be used to justify an invasion of Cuba; and that there is currently an office in the Pentagon whose function is to instigate terrorist attacks that could be used to justify future strategically-desired military responses, is not a "theory." It's fact.

That neither the accusation by former British Environmental Minister Michael Meacham, Tony Blair's longest-serving cabinet minister, that George W Bush allowed the 9/11 attacks to happen to justify an oil war in the Middle East; nor the RICO lawsuit filed by 9/11 widow Ellen Mariani against Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the Council on Foreign Relations (among others), on the grounds that they conspired to let the attacks happen to cash in on the ensuing war profiteering, has captured the slightest attention from American corporate media is not a "theory." It's fact.

That the FBI has completely exonerated—though never identified—the speculators who purchased, a few days before the attacks (through a bank whose previous director is now the CIA executive director), an unusual number of "put" options, and who made millions betting that the stocks in American and United Airlines would crash, is not a "theory." It's fact.

That the US intelligence community received numerous warnings, from multiple sources, throughout the summer of 2001, that a major terrorist attack on American interests was imminent; that, according to the chair of the "independent" 9/11 commission, the attacks "could have and should have been prevented," and according to a Senate Intelligence Committee member, "All the dots were connected;" that the White House has verified George W Bush's personal knowledge, as of August 6, 2001, that these terrorist attacks might be domestic and might involve hijacked airliners; that, in the summer of 2001, at the insistence of the American Secret Service, anti-aircraft ordnance was installed around the city of Genoa, Italy, to defend against a possible terrorist suicide attack, by aircraft, against George W Bush, who was attending the economic summit there; and that George W Bush has nevertheless regaled audiences with his first thought upon seeing the "first" plane hit the World Trade Center, which was: "What a terrible pilot," is not "theory." It's fact.

That, on the morning of September 11, 2001: standard procedures and policies at the nation's air defense and aviation bureaucracies were ignored, and communications were delayed; the black boxes of the planes that hit the WTC were destroyed, but hijacker Mohammed Atta's passport was found in pristine condition; high-ranking Pentagon officers had cancelled their commercial flight plans for that morning; George H.W. Bush was meeting in Washington with representatives of Osama bin Laden's family, and other investors in the world's largest private equity firm, the Carlyle Group; the CIA was conducting a previously-scheduled mock exercise of an airliner hitting the Pentagon; the chairs of both the House and Senate Intelligence Committees were having breakfast with the chief of Pakistan's intelligence agency, who resigned a week later on suspicion of involvement in the 9/11 attacks; and the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the United States sat in a second grade classroom for 20 minutes after hearing that a second plane had struck the towers, listening to children read a story about a goat, is not "theoretical." These are facts.

That the Bush administration has desperately fought every attempt to independently investigate the events of 9/11, is not a "theory."

Nor, finally, is it in any way a "theory" that the one, single name that can be directly linked to the Third Reich, the US military industrial complex, Skull and Bones, Eastern Establishment good ol' boys, the Illuminati, Big Texas Oil, the Bay of Pigs, the Miami Cubans, the Mafia, the FBI, the JFK assassination, the New World Order, Watergate, the Republican National Committee, Eastern European fascists, the Council on Foreign Relations, the Trilateral Commission, the United Nations, CIA headquarters, the October Surprise, the Iran/Contra scandal, Inslaw, the Christic Institute, Manuel Noriega, drug-running "freedom fighters" and death squads, Iraqgate, Saddam Hussein, weapons of mass destruction, the blood of innocents, the savings and loan crash, the Bank of Credit and Commerce International, the "Octopus," the "Enterprise," the Afghan mujaheddin, the War on Drugs, Mena (Arkansas), Whitewater, Sun Myung Moon, the Carlyle Group, Osama bin Laden and the Saudi royal family, David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, and the presidency and vice-presidency of the United States, is: George Herbert Walker Bush.

"Theory?" To the contrary.

It is a well-documented, tragic and—especially if you're paranoid—terrifying fact.

100% Proof Two People In Car (Capital Shooting)

Here's a follow-up video by Max Malone about the woman who was shot by Capitol Police. Also, I might mention that conspicuously absent in this whole mess are Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the like. Where are they? Nothing about this story makes sense, and again, we have no dash-cam video or anything like that. Just a bunch of fuzzy images and an eyewitness account that says police took the baby before they shot the mother. Keep in mind this is a two door car. How were they able to take the baby before shooting the unarmed mother? Come on, folks. This whole thing was fiction. And I bet I know why.

Think of the power that On-Star has over people's cars. They can unlock doors for you when you lose your keys. They know right where you are at all times. If your car gets stolen, they can shut it down. If they wanted to, they could listen in on your every conversation. What if the government is really angling for a way to get this kind of back-door access to all new vehicles? Just a thought ...

Non Stop Hoaxes! (video)

More timely hoax commentary from Max Malone. You know, I see behavior like what this woman was supposedly doing being ridiculed by a bunch of C-list celebrity burnouts on shows like "Top 20 Dumbest Criminals" all the time. Yet they blast sirens ordering "Shelter in Place" and bring out the entire DC Police force to stop this one unarmed woman with a baby in her back seat? Then they turn that into an all-day media event? And the cops are painted as the good guys? Really? Fortunately, I don't think this lady is real at all. No body. No video. The second video shows the "outrage" from her sisters. I've seen people get far more upset over the loss of a pet dog.

Mall Attack in Kenya ... this just smells ...

Here's a recent post I saw at WRH:
Six Americans Among Nairobi Mall Attackers

Mike Rivero comments: "Why on Earth would Al-Shabaab release the names of the attackers? Did 'Al Qaeda' release the names of the 9-11 hijackers? More and more this is feeling like a propaganda "prequel" to a major false-flag attack here in the US, in FEMA Region III, the first of October." It was also noted on his site that "A quick check in local Somalian communities found that no one knew the Kansas City name on either side of the state line. Said Abdullahi Kerow, who runs the Somali Bantu Foundation in Kansas City, Kan.: 'I know all of the families in Kansas City, Kan., and that name is not one of our families.'"

Earlier I saw a sequence of high-quality photos of the attack, looking suspiciously like they were staged. As Max Malone notes on the following video, I couldn't help but notice the fact that a cameraman taking this photo would have drawn attention to the "woman hiding for her life," yet neither her or her children seem to notice. Pretty weird.

An Experiment in Gratitude

I haven't been in a good mood lately. I'm disgusted with the constant media lies and it seems so redundant to keep bringing them up, over and over ... it seems like no progress is being made and yet, I know that's not true. I remember a post Kenny from Kenny's Sideshow put out a few days ago ... it was to thank everybody who had the courage to speak out for 9/11 truth. I made a mental note to do something like that myself, because I know if it weren't for the wonderfully brave people who cared enough to do this we'd all be in a world of hurt right now. The shadow government that appears to have taken over my country would have invaded Syria long ago, and probably already have attacked Iran, if it weren't for people who stand for principles, justice, and the truth. It's becoming evident the bad guys are having to think twice before they try putting one over on the American public. I admit I'm frustrated by how many of my countrymen still don't have a clue about how many towers fell on Sept. 11, 2001 ... but things are so much better. There's no reason to be afraid to speak up anymore. That's a big improvement, believe me.

I was thinking about putting out a post like that today, but just couldn't muster what I felt was the "proper spirit." As I said, I've been pretty morose lately. The bastards behind the world's atrocities are trying to win a war of attrition. They just won't give up. They own the media and pretty much all the nation's wealth, and it's so frustrating and galling how they just plow through with what any halfway intelligent person would immediately recognize as a lie, if they weren't constantly being bombarded with it 24/7, all the while being subtly poisoned with fluoride, GMO food and God knows what else. Then I saw this video, which was pretty serendipitous. So here's that video, plus this one out to my heros. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You're saving the world.

The media is lying

Heard there's another likely false flag shooting playing out today, this time at the Washington Navy Yard (note one of the authors of the linked report is CNN's Barbara Starr, who bears an uncanny resemblance to these women). The number of gunmen reported keeps varying ... first heard on twitter there were two shooters, then three ... I bet in the end they'll just settle on one, though, and since he's dead already there'll be no need to actually have a trial and try to prove anything ...

How to get rid of chemtrails and "raise your vibration"

I've known about the effectiveness of orgonite for years and I feel a bit guilty that I rarely mention it on my blog. It's one of those things that belong in the category of "higher dimensional technology", and no, I don't know how or why it works, I just know that it does. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. You know that one commercial for Dawn dish soap, where they squirt in one drop and all the grease gets pushed away? Orgonite does that with chemtrails (except it might take 20 minutes instead of a few seconds). It's relatively easy and inexpensive to make, and fortunately Zen Gardner has written about it quite a bit lately, so I'll just refer you to this article: Orgone and Orgonite – A Primer. I just wanted to vouch for it on my blog ... like I said, it works so well the most hardened skeptic won't be able to deny it when they see it in action.

Print out your stuff, and back it up

My naggy little voice has been acting up again, lately. It's not always right, and it's always a pain in the neck, but when it is right and I had the good sense to act on it, boy was I glad! Right now it's urging me to make a hard copy of all the writing I care about, and try to back up my blog if I can. If you know how to do this easily on blogger, even with a huge archive like mine, let me know. Something tells me the next false flag attack may well be in cyberspace.

If you're a 9-11 truth advocate, you might want to print out some good paper copies of your favorite short introductions to the topic. One of my personal favorites was written by a friend of mine -- On 9/11 a THIRD Skyscraper Plunged to Earth: The Sudden Implosion of WTC Building 7 by David R. Kimball. It's short, well documented, and highly readable for newbies. Anyway, good preparation can make a huge difference, just thought I'd share my concerns.

25 quotes about Syria every American should see

[Original article by Michael Snyder, with intro and links, here: 25 Quotes About The Coming War With Syria That Every American Should See]

If the American people are going to stop this war, they need to do it now. The following are 25 quotes about the coming war with Syria that every American should see...

1. Barack Obama, during an interview with Charlie Savage on December 20, 2007: "The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation."

2. Joe Biden, during a television interview in 2007: "The president has no constitutional authority ... to take this nation to war ... unless we're attacked or unless there is proof we are about to be attacked. And if he does, if he does, I would move to impeach him."

3. U.S. Representative Ted Poe: "Mr. President, you must call Congress back from recess immediately to take a vote on a military strike on Syria. Assad may have crossed a red line but that does not give you the authority to redline the Constitution."

4. U.S. Representative Kurt Schrader: "I see no convincing evidence that this is an imminent threat to the United States of America."

5. U.S. Representative Barbara Lee: "While we understand that as commander-in-chief you have a constitutional obligation to protect our national interests from direct attack, Congress has the constitutional obligation and power to approve military force, even if the United States or its direct interests (such as its embassies) have not been attacked or threatened with an attack."

6. The New York Times: "American officials said Wednesday there was no 'smoking gun' that directly links President Bashar al-Assad to the attack, and they tried to lower expectations about the public intelligence presentation."

7. U.S. Senator Rand Paul: "The war in Syria has no clear national security connection to the United States and victory by either side will not necessarily bring in to power people friendly to the United States."

8. U.S. Senator Tim Kaine: "I definitely believe there needs to be a vote."

9. Donald Rumsfeld: "There really hasn’t been any indication from the administration as to what our national interest is with respect to this particular situation."

10. Robert Fisk: "If Barack Obama decides to attack the Syrian regime, he has ensured – for the very first time in history – that the United States will be on the same side as al-Qa’ida."

11. Former congressman Dennis Kucinich: "So what, we’re about to become al-Qaeda’s air force now?"

12. Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem: "We have two options: either to surrender, or to defend ourselves with the means at our disposal. The second choice is the best: we will defend ourselves."

13. A Syrian Army officer: "We have more than 8,000 suicide martyrs within the Syrian army, ready to carry out martyrdom operations at any moment to stop the Americans and the British. I myself am ready to blow myself up against US aircraft carriers to stop them attacking Syria and its people."

14. Khalaf Muftah, a senior Ba'ath Party official: "We have strategic weapons and we’re capable of responding."

15. An anonymous senior Hezbollah source: "A large-scale Western strike on Syria will plunge Lebanon virtually and immediately into the inferno of a war with Israel."

16. Ali Larjiani, the speaker of the Iranian parliament: "...the country which has been destroyed by the terrorists during the past two years will not sustain so much damage as the warmongers will receive in this war."

17. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: "Starting this fire will be like a spark in a large store of gunpowder, with unclear and unspecified outcomes and consequences"

18. General Mohammad Ali Jafari, chief of Iran's Revolutionary Guards: (an attack on Syria) "means the immediate destruction of Israel."

19. Israeli President Shimon Peres: "Israel is not and has not been involved in the civil war in Syria, but if they try to hurt us, we will respond with full force."

20. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "We are not part of the civil war in Syria, but if we identify any attempt whatsoever to harm us, we will respond and we will respond in strength."

21. The Jerusalem Post: "The lines between Hezbollah and the Syrian regime are so blurred that Israel will hold Damascus responsible if Hezbollah bombards Israel in the coming days, Israeli officials indicated on Wednesday."

22. Ron Paul: "The danger of escalation with Russia is very high"

23. Pat Buchanan: "The sole beneficiary of this apparent use of poison gas against civilians in rebel-held territory appears to be the rebels, who have long sought to have us come in and fight their war."

24. Retired U.S. General James Mattis: "We have no moral obligation to do the impossible and harm our children’s future because we think we just have to do something."

25. Syrian refugee Um Ahmad: "Isn't it enough, all the violence and fighting that we already have in the country, now America wants to bomb us, too?"

Dr. Masaru Emoto Water Blessing at Lake Pontchartrain

It might be argued that this video belongs on my other blog, "the Lighter Side of Jody" but not enough people go there, and the Mainstream Media is NOT telling you how bad the world's water situation is.

But we don't have to sit back helplessly! Research Dr. Emoto's scientific experiments demonstrating the physical effect of human intentions on water. There is a visible difference between blessed water and water that has not been blessed. Right now fish all over the world are inexplicably dying. Cynthia Papermaster: day 63 of her hunger strike in solidarity w/Gitmo prisoners

Cynthia Papermaster is a friend of mine. We've carried a lot of signs and stuffed a lot of envelopes together. She may be the most stubborn person I know, and believe me, that's saying something! Fortunately for humanity, she directs that stubbornness into fighting evil things. When Bush was in office, she was *the* go-to woman for getting him impeached. She must have sent thousands of letters to help war protesters in Canada. Now she's on day 63 of a 300-calorie a day fast. I'm posting a picture of her on her 32rd day of her fast, and a picture that looks like the woman I remember. People with that kind of dedication don't come around everyday. Please visit her website and help her cause.

Deadly clashes in Egypt

I don't get enough time on the Internet to fully understand recent events anymore, so I don't know what to make of this, but I can tell you: the mainstream media is seriously downplaying the deadly coup in Cairo, and that usually means there's American-backed death squads involved. All I can say is that according to AP on Twitter, the latest news is that:

--VP ElBaradei resigns
--Police seize control of second pro-Morsi camp
--Health Ministry: Death toll at 149

Scott Creighton of American Everyman has been following events closely. I'll try to keep up with the situation, but something tells me there's going to be a lot of rumors and disinfo floating around this complex issue.

You

[Here is a wonderful essay from Michael Rivero at whatreallyhappened.com]

You don't need me to tell you how bad things are.

You already know.

You already know that the wealth of American workers is being stripped away to prop up a failed private central banking system that issues the public currency as a loan at interest, by design creating more debt than money with which to pay that debt, to trap and enslave you.

You already know your children are dying in wars of conquest intended to force that same failed system of national economics onto other nations.

You already know the US Government has abandoned even the pretense of complying with the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

You already know that the United States has become a nation few want their children to have to live in.

You know all this!

The question is, what will you do about it?

It is up to you, you know.

The reality is that there are no heroes to step forward to save the situation. That is a fantasy purveyed by film and TV to lull you into the false belief that if you sit quietly at home and do nothing to challenge the rulers, that someone else will fix the problems that curse your lives.

You know that is a lie.

Superman is a comic book, the Lone Ranger a radio show, Batman does what he does only on the silver screen, government and banking will never correct the corruptions which have made them rich and powerful, the CIA is not the swell bunch of Joes portrayed in the Tom Clancy books, and the imaginary playmate in the sky is not going to alter the nature of the world in exchange for the small change you toss into the collection plates, no matter how much you grovel before that child molester in the funny looking robes.

You know that.

If there is to be a better world, for you and your children, you must make it happen. And only you can do it.

If you want truthful government, you must make public the government's lies.

If you want honest banking, you must withdraw your business from dishonest financial institutions.

If you want accurate and fair media, you must ignore the tellers of lies and support the tellers of facts.

If you want peace, you must openly oppose war.

If you want an end to corruption, you must unite together against the corrupters.

If you want a nation that is not controlled by a foreign government, then you must remove that foreign government's enablers.

If you want a public currency that is a public utility, you must issue that currency and refuse to use the currency designed to enslave you with debt.

If you want honest elections, then you must destroy the means by which elections are rigged, and drive from power all those who stole their offices.

If you are tired of working as hard as you can, only to be forced to live with less so the wealthy can have more, you must change things.

If you are tired of living under fascism, then you must do something about it.

If you are disgusted with what this nation has become, then you must make a difference.

Above all, you must allow yourself to be openly angry to what has been done to you, what is being done to your children, and what is being done to your nation, because this is your nation. And ultimate responsibility for the future of the nation rests with you.

Only you.

If you want a better world, you must make it happen.

You know that.

First, they came for the Muslims ...

and though I'm not a Muslim I spoke out because I knew they'd then be coming for the Constitutionalists, and I am a Constitutionalist, in that I'm a strong advocate of the Bill of Rights, including the 2nd Amendment. And it turns out I was right, because the latest propoganda is re-fashioning the alleged "Boston Bombers" into right-wing conspiracy theorists:

"Now, instead of radical Islam, we are told Tamerlan was a student of 'far-right wing literature' and was a defender of the Second Amendment while at the same time agreeing with Hitler...'Tsarnaev also had a marked-up copy of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a long-discredited tract penned in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century,' Alan Cullison writes for WSJ." -- Kurt Nimmo

So, I guess the next twist in this ever-changing narrative is that gun-defending anti-Zionists are behind the Boston bombings. I'm a bit concerned about this latest development, as you might imagine.

ReThink911 reaches goal

[Saw this on 911blogger.com]

Dear Friends and Supporters of ReThink911,

We did it!

Yesterday, the ReThink911 campaign reached its fundraising goal of $225,000. Thanks to you, eleven cities and countless millions throughout the world will come to learn about the freefall destruction of World Trade Center Building 7 this September. Your commitment, generosity, and faith in our vision are what have brought us to this point. On behalf of everyone at Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth and all of the ReThink911 coalition members, I want you to know that we are eternally grateful for the very generous support that you have shown.

Our fundraising this past week was so successful that in just five days we were able to raise the final $25,000 we needed—and then some! The additional $2,300 we raised up through yesterday will now be used as the seed money for the next all-important piece of our September efforts: a new Public Opinion Poll to be officially released in the week leading up to September 11th.

Maddow: Something's Very Rotten w/ FBI Tsarnaev-Todashev Boston Bombing-Linked "Investigation"

I'm posting this because I know my mother likes Rachel Maddow and will believe *her*, at least, when it comes to questioning the official story.

So, the FBI goes to question an unarmed man in his own home, and that man ends up with 7 bullets in him, including one through the top back part of his head. Why ...? The Feds are doing an internal investigation, but the leaked explanations keep changing. Delta airlines refused to fly Todashev's body home. Now we hear that Florida refuses to investigate the shooting.

Yeah, as Rachel said, you'd think this would be a bigger story.

The FBI can remotely activate the microphones for phones running Google's Android software to record conversations (worldwide)

[In case you didn't know this already. If you want your conversations to be truly private, avoid computers, cellphones, and modern cars. Oh, and to be safe I'd stay away from new televisions as well ... :(]

FBI Taps Hacker Tactics to Spy on Suspects By JENNIFER VALENTINO-DEVRIES and DANNY YADRON of the Wall Street Journal

Law-enforcement officials in the U.S. are expanding the use of tools routinely used by computer hackers to gather information on suspects, bringing the criminal wiretap into the cyber age.

Federal agencies have largely kept quiet about these capabilities, but court documents and interviews with people involved in the programs provide new details about the hacking tools, including spyware delivered to computers and phones through email or Web links—techniques more commonly associated with attacks by criminals.

People familiar with the Federal Bureau of Investigation's programs say that the use of hacking tools under court orders has grown as agents seek to keep up with suspects who use new communications technology, including some types of online chat and encryption tools. The use of such communications, which can't be wiretapped like a phone, is called "going dark" among law enforcement.

A spokeswoman for the FBI declined to comment.

The FBI develops some hacking tools internally and purchases others from the private sector. With such technology, the bureau can remotely activate the microphones in phones running Google Inc.'s Android software to record conversations, one former U.S. official said. It can do the same to microphones in laptops without the user knowing, the person said. Google declined to comment.

The bureau typically uses hacking in cases involving organized crime, child pornography or counterterrorism, a former U.S. official said. It is loath to use these tools when investigating hackers, out of fear the suspect will discover and publicize the technique, the person said.

The FBI has been developing hacking tools for more than a decade, but rarely discloses its techniques publicly in legal cases.

Earlier this year, a federal warrant application in a Texas identity-theft case sought to use software to extract files and covertly take photos using a computer's camera, according to court documents. The judge denied the application, saying, among other things, that he wanted more information on how data collected from the computer would be minimized to remove information on innocent people.

Since at least 2005, the FBI has been using "web bugs" that can gather a computer's Internet address, lists of programs running and other data, according to documents disclosed in 2011. The FBI used that type of tool in 2007 to trace a person who was eventually convicted of emailing bomb threats in Washington state, for example.

The FBI "hires people who have hacking skill, and they purchase tools that are capable of doing these things," said a former official in the agency's cyber division. The tools are used when other surveillance methods won't work: "When you do, it's because you don't have any other choice," the official said.

Surveillance technologies are coming under increased scrutiny after disclosures about data collection by the National Security Agency. The NSA gathers bulk data on millions of Americans, but former U.S. officials say law-enforcement hacking is targeted at very specific cases and used sparingly.

Still, civil-liberties advocates say there should be clear legal guidelines to ensure hacking tools aren't misused. "People should understand that local cops are going to be hacking into surveillance targets," said Christopher Soghoian, principal technologist at the American Civil Liberties Union. "We should have a debate about that."

Mr. Soghoian, who is presenting on the topic Friday at the DefCon hacking conference in Las Vegas, said information about the practice is slipping out as a small industry has emerged to sell hacking tools to law enforcement. He has found posts and resumes on social networks in which people discuss their work at private companies helping the FBI with surveillance.

A search warrant would be required to get content such as files from a suspect's computer, said Mark Eckenwiler, a senior counsel at Perkins Coie LLP who until December was the Justice Department's primary authority on federal criminal surveillance law. Continuing surveillance would necessitate an even stricter standard, the kind used to grant wiretaps.

But if the software gathers only communications-routing "metadata"—like Internet protocol addresses or the "to" and "from" lines in emails—a court order under a lower standard might suffice if the program is delivered remotely, such as through an Internet link, he said. That is because nobody is physically touching the suspect's property, he added.

An official at the Justice Department said it determines what legal authority to seek for such surveillance "on a case-by-case basis." But the official added that the department's approach is exemplified by the 2007 Washington bomb-threat case, in which the government sought a warrant even though no agents touched the computer and the spyware gathered only metadata.

In 2001, the FBI faced criticism from civil-liberties advocates for declining to disclose how it installed a program to record the keystrokes on the computer of mobster Nicodemo Scarfo Jr. to capture a password he was using to encrypt a document. He was eventually convicted.

A group at the FBI called the Remote Operations Unit takes a leading role in the bureau's hacking efforts, according to former officials.

Officers often install surveillance tools on computers remotely, using a document or link that loads software when the person clicks or views it. In some cases, the government has secretly gained physical access to suspects' machines and installed malicious software using a thumb drive, a former U.S. official said.

The bureau has controls to ensure only "relevant data" are scooped up, the person said. A screening team goes through all of the data pulled from the hack to determine what is relevant, then hands off that material to the case team and stops working on the case.

The FBI employs a number of hackers who write custom surveillance software, and also buys software from the private sector, former U.S. officials said.

Italian company HackingTeam SRL opened a sales office in Annapolis, Md., more than a year ago to target North and South America. HackingTeam provides software that can extract information from phones and computers and send it back to a monitoring system. The company declined to disclose its clients or say whether any are in the U.S.

U.K.-based Gamma International offers computer exploits, which take advantage of holes in software to deliver spying tools, according to people familiar with the company. Gamma has marketed "0 day exploits"—meaning that the software maker doesn't yet know about the security hole—for software including Microsoft Corp.'s Internet Explorer, those people said. Gamma, which has marketed its products in the U.S., didn't respond to requests for comment, nor did Microsoft.

DOT officials trying to stop 9/11 graffiti on bridges, overpasses

[HT 911blogger.com]

Hey everyone! Jody checking in here. I know there's a lot to write about (I'm specifically thinking about Egypt right now), but I must admit the situation is too complicated for me to proffer any opinions right now. Truth is, I'm *so* sick of the endless lying, disinfo and distractions these days I'm kind of taking a "media fast" -- at least from the mainstream media. I suppose that's right where they want us, not knowing what is fake and what is real. All I can say is the bullshit is getting extra thick around here, you know they're up to something ... but in the meantime I can always work on myself, meditate, etc.

Hope you're having an enjoyable summer. Take some time and smell the roses! Love, Jody

Who wants to hear about Guantanamo?

Not many people, according to my stats ... whenever I write about the Gitmo hunger strike my readership goes way down. I understand that ... it's not pleasant to think or write about, nothing's really changed (that much) and there's not a hell of a lot that one person can do ... I mean, they *really* *really* don't want to let those guys out of there. And I bet I know why. They've done some really evil shit on those dudes that, if it ever saw the light of day, would totally blight any credence or moral pretensions the United States might have left.

But the fact that Gitmo is still open is eating away at the soul of this country like acid. Some people can't turn away. I have a friend from Code Pink who has been fasting out of solidarity for these prisoners for 41 days. Other protesters have been fasting even longer. No one's going to be force-feeding these guys when their lives become endangered (as I'm sure they already have). It's not that hard to slip into that kind of state, I've gone over 12 days without eating, and I can tell you after 10 days people stop feeling hungry. But I will say this: going on a fast makes it abundantly clear what kind of hell those poor detainees at Gitmo must be going through. There's not a minute that goes by when you aren't aware of every little thing you do, and why you're doing it. I think Gandhi once said that "Fasting is the most sincere form of prayer."

Scottish comedian Frankie Boyle is the latest to join the crew -- he's gone on hunger strike in support of Shaker Aamer - the last British detainee in GuantĂ¡namo Bay. I've been on long fasts more than once, I know what these guys are going through, and it's the very least I can do to keep bringing it up, even if no one wants to hear about it ...
